My Story - Part 3

OK so I’m just going to do one mega post because I’d like to finish my story, so settle in and make a hot drink (not too hot, did you see the research that has linked hot drinks with throat cancer!? Keep it below 65 degrees and you’ll be a-okay apparently) So last time I left off with just coming out of ICU and being moved to a ward. I don’t really know when I realised or was told I had a stoma (colostomy) I guess I just knew that would be the outcome of the surgery. I actually really didn’t care at all that I had it, I had survived and was still battling and that’s all I really cared about....

Resparkle - Review

I was so excited to get my delivery from Resparkle!  Pearl from Resparkle created the brand, she was suffering for years from irritated skin and an itchy nose, she had the ‘ah-ha’ moment when she realised that the cleaning products she was using daily were actually toxic and, lucky for us, Resparkle was born. Quote from Pearl on the Resarkle Website “My vision is healthy homes for everyone. Resparkle goes beyond mere home care products. It is a way of empowering us with the opportunity to make small but positive change to our everyday lives. I truly believe that together, we can spark a movement that will shape the health of our homes, our community and our planet.” The packaging...

Why I Love Opinions

You know when you just have one of those awesome nights with friends filled with laughter, food and great conversation? Well tonight was one of those nights (it’s 1am as I type this) And you know what I absolutely adore about people? The fact that we all have our own opinions! How utterly boring would life be if we agreed with each other all the time, dull with a capital D. My Story - Part 2

So it’s taken me a while to bring myself to sit down and continue with my story, it’s kind of overwhelming reliving it all while typing it. And if you thought the last post was heavy things are about to get a WHOLE lot heavier. Last time I left off with me crying at the surgeon’s office. After that I had a colonoscopy to determine if the endometriosis had found its way through the bowel wall, that was just a day procedure and was easy peasy. My surgeon didn’t find anything and he was optimistic that he might be able to just remove the lesions and not have to remove the bowel. The surgery date was booked and I received...

My Story - Part 1

I’m Amy and I have endometriosis (imagining myself in front of a room full of people like an AA meeting) About 7 years ago I was complaining of bad pain and not just during my period (phew got that word out of the way early!) so I did what everyone does and made an appointment to see my GP. The response, ‘I’ll give you a prescription for some pain killers but nothing to worry about’, awesome, nothing wrong with me then. I convinced myself many times that if the doctors were telling me I’m fine then I must be fine. But then I would have a painful period, so bad I’d have to take one or two days off work, and I...
